Last week, the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) launched a trial at Bloor-Yonge Station of new signage and colour-coded line numbers to make for easier subway navigation. Read more about the upgrades HERE.
The long-term benefits of the new system will have to wait to be evaluated until they are made at all stations, as well as questions of whether or not it will indeed ease navigation. But something I couldn’t help but notice was that the TTC’s enthusiastic invitation for feedback was accompanied by this at the bottom of the YouTube video explaining the system:
Instead, users are directed towards www.ttc.ca (whereupon the user then has to locate where feedback can be submitted), and a email@example.com email address. Accepting that comments can sometimes be mean-spirited, creating barriers for user feedback could be counterproductive to user-friendly service and input.
